Accountability Coaching with JF
One question that I get asked all the time is, “How on earth do you get so much done? Did you figure out how to fit more hours into the day?”
There is nothing more frustrating than not ever managing to get the big, important things done because you’re constantly putting out small fires. Nothing can make you feel worse about yourself and more like a fraud than watching time and deadlines fly by and realizing that you’re not making progress toward where you really want to be in your business or your life. I know all this because it’s taken me a long time to work out a process and a framework to allow me to get those important things done (without breaking the laws of the space-time continuum, that is).
I’ve been helping people get things done for decades. Those Big Things like:
- Growing the business in the midst of noise and disruption
- Working through the tricky areas of team, culture, and bottom line
- Staying sane in the midst of constant business change
- Clarity about the big priorities and tangible strategies for how to achieve them
- Getting that reputation-building book done, published, and out there
- Doing the right things to raise the right capital
All this experience has led me to identify nine very specific reasons why we tend not to get things done.
Nine reasons why we don’t get things done
(and how they manifest in your life)
- Too much going on — stress, feeling overwhelmed, and the infinite to-do list are all signs of this
- Conflicting goals — feeling stuck, hearing people say, “But you said…”
- Treading water — that anxious feeling of being busy all the time yet never really getting there
- Unresolved messy stuff — the problems and black holes that are holding you or your team back are sucking the life and energy out of you
- Glamour-goal distraction — it’s a nice goal but it is not really yours, so either it feels like a burden or it’s hard to get motivated to get it done
- Superhero complex — you’re burned out because you’re trying to get it all done according to an unrealistic timeframe
- Solo genius complex — you’re burned out because you think that you know it all and that you can get it all done by yourself
- Blindsided by missing pieces — discovering “oh $&*#, we missed that!” when it’s too late to fix it
- No one to pace you — you can’t get efficient because no one is helping you find clarity in distraction, take that big first step, or move forward steadily
When you get right down to it, all nine of these problems involve a lack of accountability. Accountability is a big word, with echoes of a teacher rapping our knuckles with a ruler because we didn’t do our homework. But it is absolutely essential if we want to get the important things done. We all have a naturally hard time holding ourselves accountable, so sometimes we need somebody else to step in and take that role.
In order for someone to be able to hold us accountable, we need to respect them, and they need to be firm enough not to let us get away with copping out on our goals. An accountability coach who allows you to rationalize why you didn’t get it done is little better than no coach at all. It helps, too, if they have a proven record of being able to get things done themselves.
I’ve done accountability work with executives, businesses owners, and speakers. Helping other people to get those important things done has been my superpower for 25 years, from startups to billion-dollar businesses. I help you finish those crazy-making projects you never seem to find the time for. I help get those broken projects fixed and across the line. I help tackle those magnificent goals you thought were out of reach for someone like you.
The Solution: JF Accountability Packages
I’ve put together four JF Accountability packages, tailored to suit your unique needs. Together we’ll address each of the issues above and more, to help you achieve either a specific short-term goal or any number of things you want to accomplish over a 12-month period.
Please note that accountability coaching is as time-intensive on my end as it is time-effective on yours, so I can offer only a limited number of these packages.
Package Options
“I Need to Get This One Thing Done Now”
Package 1: Duration of coaching: four weeks
$995 (only nine packages available)
This is perfect if you have a very specific task or project in mind. Maybe it’s something you’ve been working for a while and put aside because you couldn’t finish it, for any number of reasons, but now you are finally ready to do something about it.
We start with a personal Commitment Session to help us establish exactly what you want to get done within the next month. We’ll look at what’s stopped you from getting it done in the past, determine your optimal strategy to overcome it, and we’ll get clear on the big why that will give you the drive to achieve it and what you stand to lose if you don’t. Most importantly, we’ll agree on a plan to get it done. Then it’s time to take action.
You have one month to finish your project or achieve your goal. We’ll have a follow-up session four weeks later, and in between we will check in regularly to make sure you get it done. The game-changer for you: a very specific plan of attack, plus me to hold you accountable. Our strategic follow-up session will make sure you’re on target and help you to set your next big goal, now that you’re on a roll!
